We are delighted that Tri-Life has chosen us as one of 2 charities to support this year
About Tri‑Life
Tri‑Life began in 2013 after its founder, Jamie Mills lost his step-father to cancer. What started as a personal commitment to run the London Marathon and cycle from London to Paris soon snowballed as friends and colleagues joined them on their challenges. By the end of that first year, the fledgling group had run marathons, cycled across countries and climbed Kilimanjaro, raising more than £160 000 for cancer research and palliative care. The positive momentum led Tri‑Life to register as a charity dedicated to supporting cancer research and palliative care initiatives and to offer people meaningful ways to challenge themselves and support a good cause. Since 2013 the Tri‑Life community has raised over £700,000, with the long‑term goal of reaching £1 million. Participants sign up to challenges and fundraise individually, creating a supportive network that shares the same purpose: to #SPEEDTHECURE for cancer and improve quality of life for those facing it.
This year’s beneficiaries
For the London to Amsterdam Bike Ride and other Tri‑Life events organised through PIE Events, all funds raised will be split equally between two charities: Cancer Research UK and Holly’s Heroes.
Holly’s Heroes
Holly’s Heroes is a young charity born from one family’s experience. In June 2023, 12‑year‑old Holly West was diagnosed with metastatic rhabdomyosarcoma. After months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy she briefly neared remission but relapsed and sadly passed away in October 2024. Throughout her battle, Holly experienced how joyful experiences and special moments provided by charities gave her and her family strength and normality. Inspired by this, her mother Emma West registered Holly’s Heroes as a charity in February 2025 to bring happiness to other children facing cancer. The charity’s mission is to bring moments of happiness, fun and joy to children and families affected by cancer by offering experiences that create lasting memories. In essence, Holly’s Heroes aims to bring light into the lives of children and families during their toughest times.
Why these charities
Tri‑Life’s charitable objectives focus on both advancing cancer research and supporting palliative care. Selecting Cancer Research UK honours the charity’s commitment to pioneering research that improves prevention, early detection and treatments, ensuring that more people survive and live well with cancer.
Partnering with Holly’s Heroes ensures that while research continues, children living with cancer today experience joy and normality. By splitting funds equally between these two charities, Tri‑Life reflects its dual purpose: accelerating progress towards cures while improving the quality of life for those currently facing cancer.
Get involved
By signing up for the London to Amsterdam Bike Ride and other events organised through PIE Events, participants will not only challenge themselves but also help fund life‑changing research and create magical moments for children with cancer. Every mile cycled and every donation made moves us closer to a future where cancer is beaten and children can smile through their treatment.
