We wanted to share part of Rhys’ journey in his Mum’s own words…
“Rhys was diagnosed with All leaukemia on Xmas eve 2022 at just the age 12 . He’s gone on to endure 3.5 years of chemo regiment c, including a lot of lumber punctures, he’s been so incredibly selfless in this time by giving extra bone marrow every time to help with vital cancer research.
He also needed 6 months intensive chemotherapy at the beginning and unfortunately got a bleed and clot on the brain from peg chemo that he spent some time in st Georges intensive care unit and long term keppra for frontal lobe epilepsy but even this hasn’t stopped Rhys loving life.
After Rhys completed his intensive stage of chemo he decided he was ready to return to school… it kept him feeling whole and happy to have that extra freedom to see his friends.
Lastly, Rhys got to doing some school funded machanic courses, bricklaying & electric skills I’m incredibly proud of Rhys and how much he’s achieved.
When he’s not doing this he’s found love of fishing… or seeing friends having fun.
I feel Rhys and his sister deserves this thorpe park charity break with Holly’s heroes as he’s done so incredibly well and giving so selflessly along the way.
I’ve loved being in touch with Emma and her partner they are also so kind and selfless despite there daily heartbreak of loosing such a bright star holly keeping her legacy alive helping many families to stay strong along the way including ourselves.”
Rhys, your strength and selflessness is incredible.
We are so pleased to be sending Rhys, 3 friends, along with the family, on a 2 day Thorpe Park break with an overnight stay. Time to make memories, laugh and just enjoy being together.
